BAL Presidio
Born 04/20/02
ILR # 236315

Presidio has done an awesome job for us.  He has produced some of our best babies who have been champions in the show ring.  But we have kept so many of his daughters for our breeding program that we have very few to breed him to.  So we are giving someone else an opportunity for only $1000.  Click here to see more about Presidio.

He is presently out on Lease.

ILR 278981

Apollo is out of one of our finest Dams, Shangrila's Sunny Delight and BAL Whisk Me Away.  Sunny was the first female Harry refused to sell.  She is a very tall beautiful dam out of our Paso Peru.  BAL Whisk Me Away is a beautiful, statuesque gentle giant.  And Apache has definitely inherited his presence and temperament.  His full brother Shangrila's Apache at five months old won first in Juvenile Medium Wool Male and Grand Champion,  He also won Best Bred and Owned Male of the Virginia Classic.  We think Apollo has even more presence. We'll be doing this breeding again this Spring.  We gave mom a break.  Sold  Thank you Bruce Gurney

Shangrila's Spunky
Born 9/28/09

ILR
pending

Snowball is very sweet and will make a great pet. He is half Argentine with Argentine Altanero as his father and Shangrila's Roxie is his mother.  He has extremely fine fleece and a beautiful face.  Both his parents are large so he should be as well. He and Coal are getting along great even though there is six months difference in age.  Sold

Shangrila's Coal Man
Born 10/26/08

Coal's Mother is Shangrila's Miss Rita a beautiful black Grand Champion and his father is Boogie Knight a 39" black Suri from the Tillman's breeding.  He was born just a week or two after the other boys but he still looks like a baby.  At 12 months he measured only 37" so there is a good chance he will be able to be registered as a mini and he will make a great pet or PR llama.  Even though he is 6 months older than Snowball they are about the same size.

Sold

Thank you Robert & Daniel Wall

Shangrila's Beam Me Up Spotty
Born 04/23/08
ILR
275379
Spotty is our first Argentine Altanero baby out of Lots of Dots.  He has inherited the best of his parents.  They are both intense Appy's so he got spots but he also got some of the silkiest, softest fleece I have ever felt.  It parts perfectly down his back.  And I love his ears and pretty face.  Deirdre has been training him on obstacle and walking him in the woods.  She has even started his pack training. He is 36" now but he is not quite a year old.  But I still do not think he is going to be very tall.  So he would be very good for someone who is looking for a smaller, very gentle male.   Sold   Thank You Back Country Alpacas

Shangrila's White Magic
Born 10/01/08
ILR 275823

Magic is a sweet boy with beautiful fleece.  This is BAL Whizard's first baby for us. All of Whizard's babies have wonderful wavy high luster fleece.  Magic's mother Shangrila's Miss Jilly is a tall very correct, very light wooled female.  Who is a great llama but does not have the best fleece so we were thrilled with how Whizard improved on her fleece yet maintained the great confirmation.  He came in second to Apache in 2nd Place in Juvenile Meium Wool Male at the Virginia Classic.  Sold

Thank you Lisa Malloyed

Shangrila's Hot Spots
Born 05/13/08

Happy is another Power Spike appy boy out of Shangrila's Maxine.  Maxine's babies are by far the most affectionate babies we have.  They all have had beautiful fiber. Hot Spots is going to be a big boy.  But he is very sweet.  He comes up for kisses and lets me stroke him but he is not at all pushy.   So he will make a great pet.  We plan on showing him in the Spring if we still have him.  Sold

Shangrila's Rudy
Born 10/01/06
ILR 267957

Rudy is out of BAL Presidio's and Ruru, a full Peruvian female.  We were shocked when he was born because this is the first Suri born on our farm.  He was sticky and very difficult to dry but he sure was shiny and tiny.  All the Suri breeders who have seen him have said that he is definitely a Suri.   So we showed him t the Virginia Classic 2007 as a juvi and Rudy got Reserve Grand Champion Suri Male.  At 1 Year 4 months he measured 40 1/2" so he's not a mini but he's small and very sweet.
Sold

Thank you Susan Donoghue, DVM

Shangrila's Hershey
Born 04/10/07
ILR Pending

Hershey is a very sweet boy out of Shangrila's Strawberry Wine and Power Spike.  He is very food motivated and would be a great candidate for clicker training.  I have just started training him.  He also has very fine fiber and is very good about being brushed.  If you are looking for an affectionate pet he would be a good choice.  Sold

Thank you Susan Donoghue, DVM

BAL Love Machine
Born 04/27/01

We acquired Love Machine in a group of seven males and were hoping to get a few babies our of him before we sold him.  But when we tried to let him breed there was a problem.  So we are offering BAL Love Machine  as a non-breeder.  He has awesome fiber falling in ringlets.  It is quite a sight to see him run.. He is very territorial but easy to handle so we believe he would make a great guard for alpaca males or goats, horses or cattle.

Sold

Thank you Elliot and Connie Stone

Shangrila's Snickers
Born 10/06/06
ILR 26818
7

Snickers is out of Movin On and Eminense.  He is the smallest baby from the fall and I believe he is going to stay pretty small.  He is very cute and is getting very wooly.  He would make a great pet or PR llama or maybe even a therapy llama.  At 1 year, 3 months we measured him at 39".  So he's not a mini but he's still pretty small and awfully cute.  Sold

Thank you Louise Dillon

Mojave is Power Spike's first baby.   We were so thrilled that he had his father's appy spots.  Click here to see his baby Picture.  He has very fine fiber with beautiful crimp.  His mother is Sweetum's a daughter of our first Herd Sire Fernando Lama, the father of many of our Appaloosa's.  Mo also will let me halter him in the field with the command halter on and stands perfectly still for halter off.  Deirdre put a training pack on him as if it was just a halter.  No Problem.  And took him for a walk

(and Helen & Jessica)

Shangrila's Here Comes the Night
Born 04/28/07

Here Comes the Night is out of one of our finest Dams, Shangrila's Sunny Delight.  The first female Harry refused to sell.  She is a very tall beautiful dam out of our Paso Peru.  Power Spike is his father.  And though he is has very back shiny fiber there just may be some spots under there.  This I believe is our show contender for the spring.  So I am in no hurry to sell him.  But Harry says I must so he is priced at $950.

Sold

Shangrila's Happy Appy

Born 05/07/07

Happy is another Power Spike appy boy out of Shangrila's Maxine.  Maxine's babies are by far the most affectionate babies we have.  They all have also had beautiful fiber.  But the best thing about Happy is his adorable face.  Click here to see his head shot.

Shangrila's Sprinkle
Born 05/17/07

Sprinkle is out of Shangrila's Raindrop and Power Spike.  He had a tough start and had to be supplemented until he and his mother figured out the nursing thing.  But they did and though he will be much smaller than maybe he would have been.  He is very friendly, but well adjusted so he would make a great pet or therapy llama.  He has extremely silky, crimpy fiber and an adorable face.  $750

Sold

Shangrila's Fireworks

Born 10/05/07

Power Spike gave us another adorable appy boy.  His mother is our oldest female born at Shangrila who has given us some of the prettiest and sweetest babies.  Power Spot is no exception.  He has very silky spotted fiber with all the stretch of his mother and father.  He will be available in about six months for $750 or with his mother in a three in one package.

Sold

Shangrila's Rascal
Born 10/19/06
ILR 268188

Rascal is out of Power Spike and Shangrila’s Sunshine.  This is the first llama to greet me when I go out.  He reaches up his face for a kiss but isn't too sure yet about being rubbed with out a halter on.  This will probably change as soon as he is weaned. Based on his parents I would think that he is going to be a fairly large boy.  He is the youngest yet the largest of the baby boys.   Sold

Thank you Lucy and Ernie Allen

Shangrila's Travis
Born 10/06/06
ILR 26
7959

Travis is out of Power Spike and Shangrila’s Delta Dawn.  He is actually a dilute appy.  We already have an order for his fiber after his first shearing.  This picture really doesn’t do him justice but it was the most current picture I had.  He has one of the prettiest faces I have ever seen on a llama boy.  Even after almost 20 years of babies I find myself just staring at him in wonder.  He is also very sweet and will make a great pet or PR Llama.  Based on his parents I would think that he is going to be a fairly large boy.  Sold

Thank you Lucy and Ernie Allen

Shangrila's Hey Jude
Born 10/04/06
ILR 26
7958

Jude is out of BAL Presidio and one of our finest Dams, Shangrila's Miss Judy. His full sister Shangrila’s Miss Rita placed first in Juvenile Heavy Wool and Reserve Grand Champion at the Shenandoah showcase. She got a Grand Champion at the Virginia Classic 2007 as a yearling.  Jude is very affectionate and easy to handle.  He comes up for kisses and loves to be petted.  Sold

Thank you Deb and Jim McKenna
Shangrila's Chico
Born 04/04/06

Chico is out of BAL Presidio's and one of our finest Dams, Shangrila's Sunny Delight.  Chico is tall like his mother and father.  He has incredibly soft fiber.  When we sheared him it came off like sheets of black silk.  He has great confirmation and loads of presence so he should do well in the show ring.  We started training him early because he was getting so big so fast.  He walks right up the stairs to our deck.  And the first time he was asked to get into the trailer he just stepped up into it.   Deirdre taught him to side step in one try and he will let me halter him in the field with the command halter on and stands perfectly still for halter off.  Sold Thank you Monika Capps
